Point Wilson Lighthouse, Washington
Point Wilson Lighthouse is located in Fort Worden State Park, Washington. We stayed in the Chief's house (not shown) for several days - 26 April 2024
Point Wilson Lighthouse with the Keeper's Duplex in the background. The lighthouse was built in 1913. Prior to that, the lantern room was in a tower on top of the Keeper's House. - 26 April 2024
While we were staying at the Point Wilson Lighthouse, the United States Lighthouse Society at Point Wilson set up a Camera Obscura (a giant pinhole camera) in a trailer on-site. Bob stood very still for 3 seconds while I took the photo with the image projected behind (and onto) him - 28 April 2024

The Point Wilson Light alternates red and white every 2.5 seconds. The actual Fresnel lens in the lighthouse does not work (the U.S. Lighthouse Society at Point Wilson is working on that), so there is currently a light mounted on the outside. Located at the entrance of Admiralty Inlet, this lighthouse is one of the most important navigational aids in the State of Washington and at 51 feet, it is the tallest in Puget Sound - 28 April 2024

Cape Disappointment Lighthouse. This lighthouse overlooks the notorious Columbia River Bar. Note the row of cameras under the upper balcony that the coast guard has installed to keep an eye out for anyone in trouble. A very sunny day - 14 March 2024

Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, Washington. In 1956, the Coast Guard intended to close the station, but retained the light when the Columbia River bar pilots protested. (wikipedia) I'm pretty sure it hasn't been painted since then, though - 14 March 2024
